We've now had Luke & his crew do some work for us twice. Highly recommend Luke & his crew, they're awesome at what they do, clean up after themselves, every one of them is polite, knowledgeable, and just really nice guys.

Had Luke and his team remove 2 very large trees and grind some previously trimmed trunks. Couldn't believe how professional these guys are. Arrived on site and on time with the latest high-tech equipment. Couldn't overstate my recommendation.

Pricing

What Does Mulching Cost in Bendigo?

Mulching is priced per cubic metre or per job, depending on the area and the type of mulch you want. Every Bendigo quote is free and done on site so the figure reflects your actual block, not a guess over the phone.

  • Total area to be mulched in square metres
  • Depth of mulch the planting calls for
  • Whether mulch is supplied or chipped on site from your own trees
  • Type of mulch chosen, such as coarse or fine hardwood
  • Whether weed mat and edging are part of the job
  • Delivery distance from Moama out to your Bendigo address

We don’t quote ballpark prices over the phone. An on-site visit lets us give you a fair, accurate number and walk you through how the work will be done.

Frequently Asked

Mulching Questions

It comes down to the area, the depth you need, and whether we supply the mulch or chip it from your own tree debris. We quote on site so you get a clear price for your block. Call 0457 202 026 to arrange a visit.

As a rough guide, one cubic metre covers about ten square metres at 100mm deep. We measure your beds at the quote and work out the exact amount so you are not left short or paying for excess.

Quality hardwood mulch produced on our own tree jobs across the region. It is fresh, local, and well suited to Bendigo gardens and the surrounding bushland blocks that dry out quickly in summer.

Yes. If we are pruning or removing for you, the branches go straight through the chipper and can be spread as free mulch on your garden beds. It cuts your supply and disposal costs in one step.

Around 75 to 100mm suits most garden beds. Near tree trunks keep it a little thinner, about 50 to 75mm, and pull it back from the trunk itself so the base can breathe and stay dry.

Mulching a garden bed does not require a permit. If the mulch comes from removing or heavily pruning a protected or significant tree, the City of Greater Bendigo may require approval for that tree work first. We can tell you whether your job is affected when we quote.

Either way works. We can tip a bulk load for you to spread yourself, or bring it in and lay it as part of the job so the beds are finished before we leave.

Laid correctly it protects them by holding moisture and steadying soil temperature. The two things we avoid are piling mulch against trunks, which can cause rot, and laying it so thick it smothers small seedlings.
