Stump Grindingin Bendigo
Tidy, reliable stump grinding across Bendigo and the surrounding suburbs. We grind stumps well below the surface so the spot is clear for new turf, a garden bed, paving, or a replant. The result is a level, usable patch of ground rather than an obstacle you keep mowing around.
Every Stump Grinding Job Covers
Ground below the surface
Stumps taken at least 150mm under the soil line, deep enough for a fresh lawn or garden bed with no leftover lump.
Any stump, any size
From small ornamental stumps in a heritage front garden to large box and ironbark stumps on a Bendigo block, the commercial grinder works through them all.
Several stumps in one visit
Have a few to clear at once. Grinding them on the same trip is usually the most economical way to get the lot done.
Backyard and side-gate access
A narrow-profile grinder fits through standard side gates, so established suburbs with tight access are no problem.
Clean finish and chip handling
We level the site once the stump is down. Keep the wood chip on-site as free mulch, or have us cart it away so you can landscape straight away.
Residential, commercial, and rural
Home gardens, schools and council reserves, acreage, and bushland blocks on the city's edge. We work to whatever scale the job needs.

So impressed with Luke and his team. The tree removal was handled efficiently and right on schedule. They were professional, well organised, and clearly knew what they were doing. Highly recommend their services.
Had Luke and his team remove 2 very large trees and grind some previously trimmed trunks. Couldn't believe how professional these guys are. Arrived on site and on time with the latest high-tech equipment. Couldn't overstate my recommendation.
Stump Grinding Questions
It depends on the size of the stump, how many you have, and how easy the access is. Luke provides free on-site quotes so the price matches the actual job rather than a rough estimate. Call 0457 202 026 to lock in a time that suits you.
Grinding a stump that is already cut down generally does not need approval, but removing a living protected or significant tree in the first place may. The City of Greater Bendigo has local laws covering significant and heritage trees, so it is worth checking before any tree comes down. If you are unsure, mention it when we quote and we can point you in the right direction.
The standard is 150mm or more below the surface, which suits turf and most garden work. If you plan to lay paving, a slab, or footings over the spot, we can grind deeper. Just let us know at the quote stage so we plan for it.
Grinding is quicker and more affordable and is the right choice when you simply want the visible stump gone for a lawn or garden bed. Full removal of the root system is worth it when the area will be paved, built on, or replanted with a new tree in the same place.
Most species will not regrow once the stump is ground out properly. A few, such as elm and willow, can send up suckers from roots left in the ground, so for those we can grind deeper or treat the roots to stop regrowth.
Yes. Our narrow-access grinder fits through a standard side gate and into most backyards, which matters in the older, leafy suburbs where access is limited. If the path in is unusually tight, tell us when you book so we bring the right machine.
Grinding produces a pile of chip and soil. You can keep it on-site for free and use it as mulch through your garden beds, or we can cart it away as part of the job so the area is ready to landscape. Most people keep some chip and have the rest removed.
Yes. Luke is a qualified arborist and all work is covered by full public liability and personal insurance, so your property is protected from start to finish.
